Our Interests

Every one of us brings a unique view through photography that is nurtured by us and circumstances around us giving a fresh look on life. We can keep this interest or even passion alive by sharing ideas and stimulating creative thinking. Throughout our existence as a Club this has been our main interest to encourage everyone from beginners to seasoned photographers to explore a range of possibilities photographically and hone skills and techniques.

The world is fast changing and sometimes it is hard to keep up but inspiration from the past to the present and into the future keeps us focused on what we love and the support we need.

Past

The early history of our Club appears in Salisbury Journal dated 1904 but there is a clue to our existence from as early as 1895. From the beginning the Salisbury Camera Club, as it was known, welcomed members to lectures about amateur photography and the earliest on record was called “Rising to the Occasion” by Mr W.D. Welford, F.R.P.S - A fellow of the Royal Photographic Society - here in Salisbury. Learn more…

Present

Today our Club celebrates its history as we move forward into the future learning to adapt to the current climate and helping our membership grow.

We aim to foster the value of Photography for well being and as an art form that gives pleasure to the Photographer and to those who enjoy looking at photographs.
