Preparing Your Images For Competition
Projected Digital Images
Projected Digital Images (PDIs) are your digital photographs in JPEG format, which are projected on screen at club meetings. They can be in any aspect ratio, but must fit within the maximum image size for our projector.
Once resized, upload your images into the Photo Entry system ready for competition night.
Remember that projected images aren’t backlit like a monitor screen, and this can have an impact on how they display.
Prints
Images can be printed at home, or from a variety of print shops either online or locally. You may print your images at any size, but they must be presented in a 500mm x 400mm mount or matt.
Mount boards come in many colours, and selecting one that shows your image off to best advantage is part of the creative process.
Mount boards can be bought pre-cut, but many members cut their own boards to size, which gives more freedom with print sizes and aspect ratios. Demonstrations on how to cut mounts are run periodically, so please ask if you’d like some help.
Once mounted, make sure you label your print. On the reverse, mark your image with the number of the print, the tile and your name in the order as displayed below:
01_Title_Name_Surname
02_Title_Name_Surname
03_Title_Name_Surname
Print labels are available at meetings for convenience.
