I have been interested in photography since I was 5 years old, back in the mid 60's when I used to borrow my Dad's Pentax camera to take slides. I am still a Pentax user after all these years and I am mainly interested in wildlife, sport and landscape photography, but all subjects are of interest. I also like putting together Audio-Visual sequences, i.e. combining images, music and narration into a story. I have been a member of Salisbury Photographic Club since 2009. and I'm always looking to develop my skills which is enabled by mixing with a group of like minded members within the club. As a photographer I am always seeking new inspiration from the places I visit and it will be interesting to see where it will take me in the future

Like many others I suspect my interest in photography started at an early age with a Box Brownie camera. In my early teens I progressed to a 35mm camera which I was out with as often as I could shooting in black and white which I developed myself. Once I went off to college there was a long break before my passion was rekindled when I was posted to the USA and I purchased a Canon AE1. My primary interest has been, and still is, landscape photography as I am taken by the beauty and variety of landscapes our world has to offer, many of which are disappearing. That being said I now shoot most genres with a particular interest in portraits having invested in a lighting kit. (I welcome anyone wishing to join me in this endeavour.) My camera kit now comprises a Canon EOS R5, a Fujifilm X100V and a Mayima RZ67 medium format film camera.

My photographic skills began with steam railways. I have preferences for landscape and travel photography, but all subjects are of interest.
I am always fascinated by the imaginative ways that fellow photographers and club members use to see picture possibilities and to create images from the world about us. As a photographer I am always seeking new inspiration.

I have been a member of the club since 2011 and Treasurer since 2013. Having been a keen photographer as a teenager, I am now re-discovering the hobby after many years as just a happy snapper.
I have a pair of Canon DSLR's for serious stuff but find a phone cam quite good enough for most day-to-day photos and videos. As for style and subject matter, more or less anything goes!
I like to think I am reasonably competent at the technical side of photography, and my chief learning curve (for which the club environment is invaluable) is trying to acquire some artistic skills.

I have been a member of Salisbury Photography Club for since 2004. During this time my photographic interests have been varied and it’s fair to say that I still enjoy all genres and types of photography. If I had to be specific and state my main photographic interest I would have to say landscapes, but a look at my website (aropics.com) will show that in reality my subjects are varied and like all good photographers, opportunistic..
In recent years I have started to enjoy Street Photography and the candid insight into everyday life that it provides.
As well as taking my own photographs I also am an active PAGB listed judge and enjoy viewing and critiquing the work of other club photographers.
My eyes are like a camera looking for detail and images whenever I go, especially on walks. Nature and Landscapes are a passion from childhood and I like to include habitats relating creatures to their environment. My background is in Multimedia for Children's television so all aspects of photography and ways of capturing an image interest me. New and innovative ideas and expression of visual arts never cease to amaze me.

I have been a keen amateur photographer from an early age. I developed my interest and love of photography from my father.
My main interest in photography, these days, is landscapes and travel, although I have tried many different genres.
I have been a member of Salisbury Photography Club and before that, Salisbury Camera Club, on and off, since the 1980s when I used to develop and print my own black and white photographs and also took slides. I was quite slow in the uptake of digital cameras. I now have a Canon EOS D70 DSLR and have recently been using my smartphone for many photos.
I have no specific plans for the future but am interested to see which direction my photography goes in.

I have always loved photography but have only recently started to spend time on it since I joined the club and bought a proper camera. I'm fascinated in photography as an art form that can evoke an emotional response and tell us more about ourselves as well as changing the way we see the world. It has taken me to inspirational places and led to unexpected outcomes, and I'm curious to see where it will take me in the future.

I cannot remember a time I was not interested in photography and, by the time I was 14, I bought my first Ilford Supermatic camera-35 mm. By the time I was married I was into developing my own photos; our loft being the ideal darkroom! Times moved on and colour appeared but developing coloured photos was expensive, cheaper to have them done at the shop! Wherever I have been in the world, working or for pleasure, the diverse opportunities of taking photos is endless. I love taking people and models, equally the landscapes of places such as the ‘Grand Canyon’ are awesome to photograph, colours changing every few seconds. Taking wedding photographs as a business taught me to create photos unique to each bride and groom and there was a deep satisfaction in this. Now retired, it’s a hobby! I’m able to go out when I want and make good use of my iPhone as as the photos taken on this are excellent. My current camera is a Sony A6500 with 4 lenses.

Photography is my main hobby and, although I'm keen to try most genres, I'm drawn to landscape photography which gives me the opportunity to travel near and far. I've always used Canon hardware and have recently moved airborne with a drone which has opened a whole new area to explore.
